Birchwood Cottages encourages an active partnership with families and loved ones. Care conferences are offered as needed or desired, often after a major change of condition. We believe the family and/or personal representatives play an integral role in identifying resident needs. We welcome visits, participation in activities and interaction with staff. Community gatherings are scheduled throughout the year.
Birchwood Cottages encourages volunteers to join us in providing meaningful engagement and meeting the needs of our residents.
The Alzheimer’s Association- Walk to End Alzheimer’s
The Walk to End Alzheimer’s is the world’s largest event not only to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, but also provides support to caregivers and helps fund reasearch. More than 600 communities nationwide hold an annual walk.
With a focus on providing Memory Care, Birchwood Cottages of North Mankato and Owatonna are pleased to take an active part in our local walks. We welcome new walkers, donors and volunteers to assist with our walks, held late summer and early fall. For more information on the Greater Mankato area walk please contact Kim Alinder, walk committee member at 507-594-8386 and for the Owatonna walk contact Erin Carter at 507-594-8005.
